Technical Tapes

The following are the 3 main tapes used in the construction of sub sea flexible pipes, Wear Tapes, Insulation Tape and Anti-bird cage tape.

Wear Tapes

This tape is constructed from nylon, giving it a good abrasion resistance plus good tensile strength. Designed to be an excellent wear layer between 2 moving metal surfaces.

High Tensile Tapes

The tape is constructed from nylon with a continuous glass filament running longitudinally through the length of the tape providing a product with exceptional high tensile strength. The purpose being to contain the spirally wound steel bands from springing apart during the construction of the pipe

Insulation Tapes with Ultrasound Extrusion

A flexible syntactic foam tape.

This tape is constructed from an elastomeric polymer with the addition of highly insulating hollow glass bubbles.

The purpose of this tape is to maintain the temperature of the product within the pipe. This Product is designed to stand a compressive load up to 5000psi.

MASTERBATCH with Nano Technology

A Masterbatch is a concentrated dispersion of the additives in the form of a plastic pellet and is used to achieve the proper concentration and dispersion of the additives.

NANO-B

Standard Masterbatches may be a colour concentrate plus process aids UV stabilizers etc, however - Nano technology has arrived.

The addition of nano-clays and nano-tubes in the form of Masterbatches can significantly improve the properties of the base polymer itself.

Improvements in:

• TENSILE STRENGTH
• PERMEABILITY
• FLAME RESISTANCE ETC

Are all properties which can be significantly improved by the addition of NANO-B Products.
